Hello everyone, I am Jeff I have been raising cichlids for at least 30 years. for me it is really hard to find the fish that I want because no one in the area wants to sell them. they say they are not a money maker for them. I have found a few places now that I can get cichlids from so instead of buying what everyone sells I can get the ones I want over time. I love Peacocks and a breeding pair of Aulonocara baenschi I have about 60 fry right now. this is my list: Ruby red peacock ( aulonocara rubescens ) Red Empress ( protomelas taeniolatus ) Afra White blaze ( cynotilapia afra ( lundu )) lots of fry from this pair metriaclima hajomaylandi ( pet shop called them yellow face ) rock kribs ( paralabidochromis sp. ) to many fry to count cichlasoma amazonarum ( amazon cichlid ) 3 batches of fry at about 200 per batch. Window Cichlid ( vieja fenestratus ) found eggs yesterday for the first time
I have 17 tanks set up ranging from 10 to 55 gal. and I am looking to expand with bigger tanks. just need to make more room. can't wait to here new ideas and get info from other people that love this type of fish as much as I do.

Hello, I'm Wade and I have an obsession with Cichlids. I have 16 tanks ranging from 10 gallons to 180 gallons. My wife and I have really enjoy watching our beloved fish. We live in North Florida where the water is naturally hard with an out of the faucet PH of 7.8, making the water chemistry a breeze. We have a 92 gallon species tank of "Yellow Labs" which can quite stunning, a 180 gallon display of various Auloncara species which is still a work in progress with room for about 20 more fish, two breeding colonies of Eureka Red Auloncara, and Butterfly Auloncara(Otterpoint I believe), a small colony of Daffodil Brichardi, and approximately 200 fry . I look forward to sharing experiences and learning from fellow Cichlid enthusiasts. Thanks Wade

Welcome Jeff! Great to have you here! Sorry for the delay I've been out of country doing the Amazon tour to get things ready for our 2010 expedition through Central & South America.
