I have some Yellow Lab Cichlids, Auratus Cichlids and some Cobalt Blue Zebra Cichlids I was just wondering what is the best type of food for this combo of fish. Right now I am using some cichlid flakes but should I be using some type of pellet food?
Thanks Keith

i find it important to give variety to my fish. add somthing different every other day. i feed my fish bloodworms on some days, nighcrawlers on other days, and many other foods on a basis.

I believe Mike sells some inexpensive discounted high quality pellets. I would also get them eating some seaweed, you can buy it at LFS (usually sold to salt water people) or you can get it cheaper at most large grocery stores. Go to the international isle , in the oriental section they sell seaweed sheets for human consupmtion (sushi rolls ). They are much cheaper at the grocery store and you get more. Cheapest place i found some is actually at a korean grocery store, small mom and pop place. Tear off a peice about the size of 3 stamps, hold it in the water for a few seconds, when you feel it soften , rub it together, it will come apart in little bite size pieces. Might take a day or two for them to get used to it, but they will like it and after a week or two will have feeding frenzy for it. Its really good for mbuna.
