Hi, got a friend with a sick frontosa. Having trouble getting advice for what it is and how the best way to treat it . Here is a link showing pics of it and what treatment has been given with the results so far. Got a bit of drama with it as he is going on vacation for a month on the first of december and he wants to have it resolved before he leaves .... At first i thought hole in the head but now im wondering if it might be some kind of infection of the fatty deposit in the hump.... Need advice quick. www.cyphos.com/forums/showthread.php?p=249186#post249186

Change the diet to strictly dry foods I would recommend Ocean Stars sinking and floating pellet mix this is an OSI product strickly for Fronts and up the temp to about 82F. It also shouldn't hurt to add extra Oxygen to the tank this looks to me like HITH which can be treated but the results are not always successful I do not believe there are any meds that you can buy for this but you can fight it by doing what I wrote above if after three days you do not see it getting better up the temp slightly and continue to do so until you see improvement. This is a type of infection so uping the temp should kill it off slowly. Goodluck I will ask around and see if anyone knows a bit more about this topic.

Well it's definitly not HITH. Problem looks more like a cyst. Raising the temp on this will probably not do anything except stress the front out more as the can be temp sensitive. It could be lymphocystis but it's really difficult to know without sending in a culture to a lab. I would level out the temp to 75-78*, salt and depending on the current diet would look in to a more balanced food.
